Purpose

This interface is used to record various details about the shipping of a sales order to a customer. The end result of this process is a sales invoice. The information that can be captured includes, but is not limited to: the picker, the packer, the shipping date, and package tracking numbers.

send a shipping acknowledgement to the customer?

In either Document Control or Customer Document Control, if the document type for Shipping Acknowledgement is set up for email, the system will attempt to automatically send a shipping acknowledgement when the shipment is posted. The system will select the email address based on the rules that are outlined in this article.
