Customer Quotes

Purpose

This interface is used to quote prices on items that you sell to your customers or potential customers. There are several other quote related interfaces in the system, such as Price & Availability, and Customer Jobs, but this is the area that is actually used for formal quoting of prices to your customer.

A customer quote is warehouse specific. If released into a Sales Order,  stocked items will be shipped from the warehouse designated in the customer quote header.

What does this field do?

At the header level

Expires On

This optional date is the date on which the quote expires and the prices are no longer considered viable. The date is blank by default, but can be set automatically by changing a setting in the company wide Sales Settings area or manually by the user. To have the value be set by the system automatically, have your system administrator, or VAR partner, access the Acclamare Command Center, navigate the Sales Settings Maintenance screen, and put a greater than zero value in the "Quotes Expire in x Days" field. The system will then automatically set the Expires On date to be that number of days added to the date that the quote is created.

While in a Sales Order, if a customer has an active quote, the user entering the order will be notified of any special pricing if they add an item to the order that is also on the quote. Once the Expires On date has been reached, the user will no longer be notified of this pricing.

Finally, Acclamare has a nightly routine that, among other things, cleans out expired quotes. Unless this routine has been modified by your VAR partner, quotes that have an expiration date will be automatically deleted by the system after 30 days.
